Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the direct relationship between work related musculoskeletal disorder and work environment and to propose solutions for the disorders caused.
Method: REBA was applied to compare and analyze work type between an experimental group and a contrast group. In the experimental group, radiological technologists participated used to move a patient from his/her bed to a treatment table in a traditional way while in the contrast group, the height between a patient bed and a treatment table was adjusted as of same level and radiological technologists participated used "smooth mover", a supportive moving tool.
Results: the descriptive statistics, there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the contrast group in relation to the average values from t-test results of REBA Score as of 9.7 vs 3.8(p<.01).
Conclusion: To reduce WMSDs, as confirmed already through this study, equalizing the heights of patient bed and treatment table while moving a patient is highly required and using a supportive moving tool is also highly recommended.
